Jackson is internationally recognised for his work in fertility and andrology. As Director of the Centre for Human Reproductive Science he leads an interdisciplinary team with clinical trials and basic science collaborations across the UK and globe.
Alongside his academic work he is also Director, HFEA Person Responsible and Science Lead at Birmingham Women’s Fertility Centre which includes coordinating one of the largest UK Preimplantation Genetic Diagnosis (PGD) services.
Jackson established and developed laboratory techniques and services for fertility preservation in the event of catastrophic genital injury, working with the Royal Centre for Defence Medicine. This contribution earned him an MBE and the Chief Scientific Officer’s Healthcare Scientist of the Year award in 2014.
He is Past-Chair of the Association for Reproductive and Clinical Scientists (ARCS); sits on the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology (ESHRE) Ethics Panel and is currently leading a policy review about Reproductive Donation across Europe.
