from Alpha and RBMO

The International IVF Initiative (I3) is a non-profit global educational project for the Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART) community. It was created to disseminate scientific and practical knowledge, challenge dogma and facilitate best practice sharing among those working in ART.

Alpha Scientists in Reproductive Medicine and RBMO have hosted a number of sessions on I3, dedicated to discussing their respective work, research and activities. Watch the selected sessions below!

  • SESSION 107: HIGHLIGHTS OF THE 13TH BIENNIAL ALPHA CONGRESS

    Mina Alikani and Sharon Mortimer host an encore presentation of prize winning abstracts by Alessandra Alteri and Ainhoa Larreategui and an invited talk by Anja Pinborg from the 13th Biennial Alpha Conference in Seville, Spain.

    Dean Morbeck, Alison Campbell, Katie Heywood, Aidita James, Jacques Cohen and Denny Sakkas explore how to capitalize on all the lab data we collect and how to make it work for us!

  • SESSION 25: HOW TO KEEP GAMETES AND EMBRYOS FROM ENVIRONMENTAL HARM

    Mina Alikani, Sharon Mortimer, and David Gardner host three prominent speakers, Patricia Hunt, David Mortimer, and Linda Giudice in this important session on gametes and embryos and the environment. A must see!

  • RBMO LIVE: Episode VII

    Co-Chief Editors Nick Macklon and Juan García Velasco host a session of behind-the-scenes insights, with Duncan Nicholas delivering the first of a Publishing Tips series, plus RBMO authors Greta Cermisoni presenting her Hot Topic paper on ejaculatory abstinence and Dagan Wells discussing abnormalities in oocyte maturation.

  • RBMO LIVE: Episode VI

    Bart Fauser and Mina Alikani, host the session on lab tech in ART with David Gardner, Marcos Meseguer, plus three speed sessions from Ana M. Pereira Daoud, Romualdo Sciorio, and Lorena Bori highlighting conceptual and ethical issues of human embryo modelling, time-lapse analysis, and automated ART systems.

  • RBMO LIVE: Episode V

    Focusing on advances in laboratory technologies, this session is hosted by RBMO Editors Mina Alikani and Richard Anderson, and Section Editor Marcos Meseguer. Presentations and panel discussion on hi tech advances, conceptual and ethical issues, come from David Gardner, Ana Pereira Daoud, Lorena Bori, and Romualdo Sciorio.

    Bart Fauser and Richard Anderson moderate a session focusing on Andrology, featuring a showcase presentation from Prof Sheena Lewis FRSB on her work with sperm DNA, and a discussion panel with RBMO section editors Nicolas Garrido and Denny Sakkas highlighting significant recent andrology publications in the journal.

    Moderators Bart Fauser and Nick Macklon host a debate between Jacky Boivin and Guido Pennings addressing women’s emancipation and IVF, plus speed sessions on motivations for seeking sperm donors, persistence through low IVF success rate predictions, and experiences with ovarian tissue cryopreservation and transplantation.

    Hosts Bart Fauser and Laura Rienzi are joined by Mina Alikari, Martin Stimpfel, Fady Sharara and Maya Sharon-Weiner for over an hour of talks, interviews and interactive discussion from the journals’ clinical embryology section, including the Cairo Consensus guidelines on IVF Culture conditions.
